Privacy Policy — United States
This Privacy Policy describes how AlienTools collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information of consumers in the United States, and explains your rights under applicable U.S. federal and state privacy laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, the Colorado Privacy Act, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, and the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act).
1. Categories of Personal Information We Collect
In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers: name, postal address, email address, phone number, account login.
- Customer records: billing address, order history.
- Commercial information: products purchased or considered, A.L.F. loyalty balance.
- Internet/network activity: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time on page, referring URL.
- Geolocation: approximate location derived from IP address (for shop-region routing and shipping estimation).
- Inferences: derived preferences (e.g., product categories you browse).
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as defined under the CPRA without obtaining required consent.
2. Sources of Personal Information
We collect personal information directly from you (when you register, place an order, contact support, or sign up for marketing), automatically through our website (cookies, server logs), and from service providers (payment processors, fraud-prevention tools, shipping carriers).
3. Purposes of Use
- Process and ship orders, manage returns, provide customer service, and operate the A.L.F. and A.A.A. programs.
- Comply with tax, accounting, and product-safety obligations.
- Operate, maintain, and improve our website and shop.
- Detect and prevent fraud, security incidents, and unauthorized activity.
- Send transactional communications (order confirmations, shipping notifications, customer service replies).
- Send marketing communications where you have opted in; you may opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
4. Categories of Recipients
We disclose personal information to:
- Payment processors and fraud-prevention services.
- Shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.).
- Hosting, email, analytics, and IT support providers, under written data-processing agreements.
- Professional advisors (accountants, auditors, attorneys) under confidentiality.
- Government agencies and law enforcement, where required by law or to protect our rights.
- Affiliated entities (including AlienTools LLC and Zecha Hartmetall-Werkzeugfabrikation GmbH) for fulfilment and global program administration, under appropriate cross-border transfer safeguards.
5. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration as that term is used in the CCPA/CPRA. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in a way that would trigger the CCPA's "sharing" definition. If this changes, we will update this Policy and provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on our shop.
6. Your Rights Under State Law
Depending on the U.S. state where you reside, you may have the following rights:
- Right to know / access: request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

- Right to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information (where collected).
- Right to data portability in a readily usable format.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
- Right to appeal a denial of your request (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas residents).
To exercise these rights, email info@alien-tools.com with your name, email address, and the right you wish to exercise. We will verify your identity using information already on file before responding. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 45 days, extendable by 45 additional days where necessary).
You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. The agent must provide signed proof of authority and we may require you to verify your identity directly.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Our shop is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.
8. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by federal and state tax, accounting, and product-safety laws.
9. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No security measure is perfect; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Transfers
AlienTools LLC is affiliated with AlienTools GmbH in Germany. Personal information may be transferred to, and processed in, the United States, Germany, and other countries where our service providers operate. We use appropriate safeguards (including contractual data-protection commitments) when transferring data internationally.
11. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
For details, see our Cookie Policy.
12. Notice of Financial Incentives (CCPA)
The A.L.F. Loyalty Program offers points and store credits in exchange for purchases and other engagement. The terms are described in the A.L.F. Program Terms. Participation is voluntary; you may withdraw at any time.
Players who beat the AlienTools Invader game (see the section on the game below) can claim a one-time 5% discount code in exchange for an email address, which is used only to issue the code and to prevent repeat claims. We estimate the value of that email address to us as equal to the value of the discount. Claiming the code is voluntary, and you can ask us to delete your email address at any time.
13. AlienTools Invader (browser game)
You can play our browser game at alien-tools.com/play without an account. We only collect personal information if you enter the leaderboard or claim the reward for beating the game.
- Leaderboard: the name you type (a nickname is fine), the country you choose (optional), your score, level, date, shot accuracy and chips collected. Your whole entry is public on the leaderboard: name, flag, score, level, date, shot accuracy and chips collected. We also keep a salted fingerprint of your IP address for 7 days to prevent abuse. Entries are not linked to shop accounts and stay on the leaderboard until you ask us to remove them.
- Reward: if you claim the one-time discount code, we use your email address to create the code in our shop and to make sure each person wins only once. As on the leaderboard, we keep a salted fingerprint of your IP address for 7 days to prevent abuse. The email address is deleted 30 days after the code expires (about four months at most) and removed from the code’s record in our shop at the same time. After that we keep only a one-way fingerprint that cannot be turned back into your address.
- We do not sell or share this information, and we don’t use your email for marketing.
- To have your leaderboard entry removed, email info@alien-tools.com.
